"A Tribute to Van Gough"
This 5"x7" original watercolor painting was painted on 140 lb Artistico Hot press paper with Artist quality Daniel Smith and Holbein paints.
This is a really special painting to me. I was never a Van Gough fan, but two years, aga - I had the opportunity to visit the Toledo Art Museum. There I saw two original Van Gough's. It felt as if they reached in and grabbed my soul - bringing tears to my eyes.
Second, though Van Gough is remembered as the crazy art guy who cut off his ear, he was really very spiritual. His father was a minister and he wanted to serve. God. However, as it turned out, he was not a gifted speaker - he was a painter. As my own life has taken quite a turn - this part of his life story touched.
This painting is a tribute to Van Gough's style as well as a rendition of one of the paintings I saw - "House at Auvers". Doing this painting in watercolor was a challenge - but a wonderfully worshipful experience.

This waterfall is tubmling and foaming as it falls over leaf and moss covered rocks. All three peaceful waterfalls are painted on 9.6"x4.25" Sennelier cold press paper. The white water you see is not paint, but made with wax and gives an excellent texture to the water.
It is matted in an 11x14" white mat with black core specially cut for this painting.
